Take 2, or is it 3?

Okay.... Let's try this again.  I've been wanting to post for a long time, but life gets in the way.  It's a new year and I thought it was time for an update so here we go!  Life is good.  We finally sold our house in Maryland and moved to Illinois.  I started a new job for a property management company and the little guy goes to daycare right across the street from my office.

My hope for 2016 is to get my diet and fitness back on track.  I have a gym at work and I want to try and get a workout in every morning before the rest of the house wakes up.  I'm back on weight watchers.  I've had great luck with it the past so I'm hopeful I can make it work again.  I'll be back tomorrow with an update on my workoutDisplaying IMG_3506.JPG plan.

It's been a while...

So it's been a hot minute since I posted on here.  In the past two years I've ran the Goofy Challenge and had a baby boy.  I would love to use this blog to help document my new goal of building muscle and becoming leaner.  I lost all of the baby weight using Weight Watchers, but I'm still having the same struggles that I did before having the baby.  I've been researching If It Fits Your  Macros, and it seems like a plan that can really work for my lifestyle and the goals I would like to accomplish.  The one thing I find very daunting is weighing all my my food.  From what I have read it seems like this is a common concern.  I ordered a food scale off of Amazon to help make things easier.  I would also like to start lifting more.  This is a huge hurdle for me with the little guy.

I'll try to check back in this weekend with pictures to show were I'm starting from.

View From Today's Run



I was wanting to do a 5 mile run for my long run this weekend, but the look on a certain little dogs face made me switch it to a 4 mile run so he could tag along.  I know I should have probably just taken him for the full 5, but the amount of time spent sniffing and saying "HI!" to other dogs just didn't work with today's schedule. The best part of running with a dog is that they always seem so excited to be out running with you.  My dog Frankie loves going on runs.  Even the cold winter mornings where I can barely get out of bed a 5am, he's there wagging his tail begging to go on the run with me.  I've tried a couple different methods for taking him with me.  In the beginning I tried to just hold the leash while we ran, but that screwed up my gate, so I tried to put the handle of the leash around a belt.  This method worked a lot better, but I felt that I needed so kind of "give" for when he tried to run a little faster, or lunged after a squirrel.  After doing some research online I found the Leash Lady (http://www.leashlady.com/).  I can't begin to tell you how much I love this running leash.  It's really well made and has a bungee section to provide so give when needed. 

When I was training for the Disney Marathon I didn't get to take Frankie o as many runs as I would have liked.  Know that the marathon is over and I have a bit of time before I have to ramp it up again it's nice to take the little guy along.  I missed my running buddy.

Here we Go!

I want to do the Goofy Challenge in 2014.  I must be Goofy.....



Hi my name is Casey Jo and I'm training to run the Goofy Challenge in 2014.  I have run two other Disney races and have now caught the runDisney bug.

I'm hoping this blog will help keep me on task with my fitness and running goals.  I tend to train for a race and then lose all the progress I have made with my training.  I have recently run the 2012 Disney Marathon, and now I would like to keep up with the progress I have made in order to be in the best shape possible for the 2014 (or 2013, but I doubt that will be possible) Disney Goofy Challenge.
